Train Ride, Myanmar Style!

Saturday afternoon we (minus Matt) rushed to meet the group in Hleden for our Train Adventure. Then we proceeded to the train depot. It has been in existence for awhile from the looks of things. We had a 3 hour train ride around the city. The train went rather slow so you could really take in the sights. It wasn't a grand tour by any means, however it showed you a different side of the city and we got to see the local people in a unique way. It was truly an experience. The train was very old and riding it was like stepping back in time. Hope you enjoy the pictures. The Depot has been around a while. Good thing that we had our friend Lydia to help us with the times and tickets. No way could we figure it out ourselves!
People are always feeding the pigeons here. It was so funny because we were all rushing to take pictures of this bird that we see all the time at home. I guess the difference is that these ones are flying en masse around a guy in a skirt. That you don't see every day. Makes a nice picture.
Just to show you how the train looks inside.
Hello everyone!
This little boy was so cute.  He and his grandfather were waving and so friendly.  You may not be able to tell but he has the Thanaka on his face making a design.

I have to admit that this picture makes me feel a little like an expert photojournalist.  I'm sure that if a real expert was there it would be way more insightful though :)
Out in the country was my favorite part.  It was nice to see fields!
This picture is for my Dad. My first picture of an interesting bird. I have seen a couple others that I would like to take a picture of but the camera is never ready!
Mother and child.
Well that is where my camera died. You may be thinking "Thank Goodness!  I can't look at any more random photos!" Well, the rest of the day was fun, and it even included Matt!  However, we are waiting for pics from others.  So...to be continued.  (Oh yes, there will be more! Fade out with evil laugh!.........Bwahahahaha......)
